Made to Order, by touchGOODS
touchGOODS, nearing its one year anniversary on Main street in Southold, N.Y., is making room in its showroom this spring to accommodate a new line of furniture, tG Collection. NorinePennacchia, the store’s owner, has filled the shop over the past year with vintage modern goods (like Hip Haven’s bullet planters), and artisanal objects (including hand stitched vintage Kantha quilts and macramé accessories), as well as clean lined modern and estate sale pieces and contemporary artwork (such as seascapes by local photographer Randee Dadonna), all in a fresh, modern color palette.
Ms. Pennacchia offers a furniture design service and over the years has developed ideas for custom making simple and sturdy modern pieces to mix in with the old. Now they can be made in 8-10 weeks or less.
A Claro walnut dining table comes in a variety of wood types and in any size (for example a 6-by-3-foot example is $3200), as does a matching walnut bench (a bench in black walnut is $1,250). The European made Harry Credenza for example ($3895) is big enough to store your favorite vinyl or large serving pieces and is a copy of a Scandinavian modern credenza she found at an estate sale years ago. touchGOODS, 53740 Main St., Southold, N.Y., (631) 765-8455, touchgoods.com.
